Learning Support Centre (LSC)
About Us
We attribute the success of our LSC to our very personal approach. Children and their parents become part of a caring environment. We work in partnership to ensure that your child is equipped with the confidence and skills to embrace future learning.
What are the benefits of a LSC within Bloomfield Primary School?
Children are taught in very small class sizes for the key subjects such as Literacy and Numeracy. During these lessons they are supported by both a specialist teacher and highly trained classroom assistant. Every child has a tailored special education plan that addresses his/her individual needs.
The advantage of a LSC within a mainstream primary setting is that it also supports inclusion in the wider life of the school. This means that children in the LSC join together for topic lessons with pupils of the same age.

Shared Education:
We will be taking part in Shared education this year with our P5 integration class and St. Malachy’s Primary, with trips that include Bangor Library and Ward Park, W5 and Crawfordsburn Scout Centre. We will be having visitors from Into film, Strive, Reach and Science Starz. Click here for the P5 Shared Education page.
Experiences and Trips:
- Summer the therapy horse will be making regular visits to our class.
- Other trips will include, Clandeboye Nature Rangers, the Folk and Transport museum and the Ulster museum.
- We look forward to lots of outdoor learning throughout the year in our new outdoor classroom and the surrounding area.
