P5 Shared Education
The P5 teachers at Bloomfield and St Malachy's Primary school planned an exciting selection of activities to run alongside the LifeSkills programme. LifeSkills provides children with the skills, knowledge, and experience to make healthy choices.
Visitors
We had the following visitors come to engage the children in the LifeSkills topics:
Into Film (www.intofilm.org/northern-ireland)
Peter Murray showed the children archive footage of Bangor and taught the children about advertising by showing how adverts have changed over time.
Science Starz
The Scientists got the children into white coats and they carried out experiments in finger printing and floating.
Strive (striveni.co.uk/)
Elaine from Strive taught the children techniques for boosting their self esteem.
Trips
There were three exciting trips for the children to experience.
Bangor Football Club
We had a morning of football coaching at Bangor Football Club to start our Shared Education sessions. This was a great way for the children to have fun with their friends from St Malachy's.
W5
P5 had an incredible time at W5 which included a workshop on the human body and a chance to use the awesome climbing wall.
The Scout Centre
Our day at the Scout Centre was a fun day out to finish out Shared Education for this year. The children took part in activities including rock climbing, crate stacking, orienteering, archery and team games.
